We need your help in honoring World War II veterans in the Georgia. Our country’s “Greatest Generation” veterans are dying at a rate of 900 a day. That’s why Honor Flight Conyers was created. You may have read about this project in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Rockdale New, Rockdale Citizen or other area papers. After published stories and TV coverage explaining the effort, Honor Flight Conyers has received calls, letters, and e-mails from WW II veterans or others on their behalf. Many veterans have completed applications and are currently on our waiting list. Time is not on our side. We are asking for your help in fulfilling what is likely one of their final wishes and our last opportunity to honor these heroes.
Georgia has a unique opportunity to express loving appreciation to the greatest generation through your support. Please show your patriotism and gratitude to our veterans by donating to this unique effort. The youngest WWII veterans are in their 80s, so we have no time to waste. Your donations are tax-deductible and serve Georgia's veterans. They will be used to provide transportation, meals, T-shirts, disposable cameras, fuel, and other basic necessities. Ground transportation, meals, and snacks will be arranged to make each veteran – some of whom are in fragile health – as comfortable as possible. Honor Flight Conyers is operated solely by dedicated volunteers and there is no paid staff. Your donation will go to sponsor the next veteran on our wait list, so don't delay.
As of December 2011, All Honor Flight Hubs have flown a combined 85,000 veterans to Washington, DC.
